Voted within the best three hotels in the UK for ten consecutive years, in the TripAdvisor Travellers Awards 2016, Rudding Park Hotel & Spa is indeed award winning. However, what makes this hotel special is that it genuinely cares for each and every one of its guests. The service is second to none and their staff are so friendly and helpful; whether I’m staying in one of their 90 beautifully styled bedrooms or organising an events, I know I’m in safe hands.
Where is Rudding Park Hotel & Spa
Privately owned by the Mackaness family, Rudding Park Hotel also offer a competitive corporate rate, free WIFI, newspapers, free parking and it is perfectly located in the heart of Yorkshire, situated close to the famous spa town of Harrogate and just minutes from the A1 (M) and within easy reach of Leeds Bradford International Airport. What sets Rudding Park apart from other hotels is its setting… The house, now a magnificent meeting and conference space which can cater for up to 350 guests, overlooks its 18 hole parkland golf course. You’re welcome to explore the beautiful landscaped gardens and woodland or why not release the day’s stresses and indulge yourself with a pampering session in their luxurious relaxing spa.
Eating at Rudding Park
Rudding Park also offers various dining options, including private dining but I chose to dine at the two AA Rosette Clocktower Restaurant. Sitting in the beautiful conservatory we were able to survey the landscaped lawns and soak in the last rays of the evening sunshine. Skipping starters, I chose the grilled sea bass served with a subtle crab & new potato salad, Wye Valley asparagus and a refreshing grape dressing. The star of the show was the white chocolate & kitchen garden rhubarb Eton Mess. The presentation reminded me of a beautiful bouquet of variegated peonies. Hand-picked from Rudding Parks own Kitchen Garden the rhubarb perfectly balanced the taste of the sweet fluffy meringue.
Accomodation at Rudding Park
My room, the Follifoot Junior Suite, was striking. Designed by local Interior Design company, Horsley & Feather, the room offers a comfortable sitting area and a private south facing terrace, perfect for sharing a glass of champagne before dinner. The suite has a sumptuous super king-sized bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen, there’s even a pillow menu to ensure I received a perfect nights’ sleep – I opted for the soft and plump goose down. I had everything I needed, including complimentary dotty massager to sooth away those aches and pains.
The next morning, feeling very well rested I started the day with a long luxurious soak in the big roll top bath whilst catching up with the morning newspaper. Heading to breakfast I chose to sit in the light bright conservatory again and had the very moreish smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a toasted muffin. I was in total heaven.
