moonpig merrier together

‘Tis the season to be jolly – and what could be more festive than an afternoon crafting with a gorgeous bunch of bloggers at the Moonpig #merriertogether event.

Moonpig had invited some regional bloggers to The Carriage Works Revolution in Leeds to hear all about their new #merriertogether campaign. I have to say at this point I was a Moonpig virgin.  Yep!  I’d never sent an online card before so I was really excited to give it a go.

When we arrived we were greeted with mulled wine which gave a lovely festive feel to the event right from the start.   We were then split into three teams.  Our team started at the bar!

The Blogging Community

Right from the start I knew it was going to be a great day because our team included Sian, Lola and Sarah. I had an interesting first encounter with Sian at the Northern Blog Awards earlier this year.  She ran away from me after I complimented her on her outfit and her blog.  I didn’t know if she’d remember me but, sure enough, she did. I’d never met Lola but she was a hoot and I’ve known Sarah – a fellow Harrogate blogger – for ages.

Merrier together this Christmas

After much giggling about tickling your cocktail with mint, it was time to move on to making our Moonpig cards. With a photobooth and fancy dress at the ready we grabbed the lovely props, jumped in, and posed in the booth.  Snap!  Once our photos were loaded onto the computer we had the opportunity review the photos and design a Christmas card to be sent to us after the event. We had other ideas and decided to send them to each other.  When we saw the photobooth images we decided we needed to have one more attempt at getting the perfect photo and returned to the booth for another go. Snap!

Well, what can I say – I’ll never make a photobooth model, that’s for sure. I picked the funniest photo of the lot then chose one of the many festive Moonpig cards and added my photo.

Creating a Moonpig card

Creating a card was as easy as one, two, three and I even personalised my message inside. I can see how much fun you could have if it was for your best friend, family member or bae. I so need to create one for Niki! We then swapped computers to input our addresses and voila… our cards were done.

After attending this event, and writing this blog post, I’ve realised how behind I am with Christmas prep.  I’ve not written any Christmas Cards this year. Moonpig have a great offer on at the moment, 50% off any five cards or 20% off if you buy a card and gift together. I think I shall be taking up these Christmas offers.  It will certainly be easier and quicker.

Crafting together

The rest of the day was spent enjoying a scrumptious lunch, creating a wreath and designing a Christmas sack. Of course, I chose to put Larry the Lobster on my sack.  I surprised myself with my drawing skills and was very pleased with how well I drew the lobster. I do love drawing and this is a hobby I plan to continue in 2019!

Moonpig gifts

Once we’d finished our wreaths and Christmas sacks there was just enough time to have a surprise visit from the big man himself. Father Christmas dropped in to say a big “Hello” and spread even more Christmas cheer with a Moonpig goody bag full of festive treats including:

  • Cartwright & Butler Ultra Thick Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Biscuits | £10.00
  • Personalised Christmas Mugs | From £8.00
  • BakedIn Chocolate Brownie Baking Kit | £12.00
  • Personalised Christmas Sack | From £15.00

This event was so good that I just didn’t want to leave!  A big thank you to Moonpig and SearchLabs for inviting me. It was a wonderful day and I loved getting to know new friends, Lola and Sian. These two made me giggle so much throughout the day – creating so many wonderful merrier together moments.

Merry Christmas one and all!
