Weather you’re looking for a place to have breakfast or lunch here’s my top places to brunch on Harrogate.

Treat yourself to a Baltzersen’s Waffle

This Scandinavian-style café, launched by a former British army officer, Paul Rawlinson, opened it’s doors in 2012. Paul named Baltzersen’s after his grandmother Liv Esther Baltzersen, because it brought back fond memories of his childhood.

Using the recipes of his Norwegian great-grandmother Paul offers Scandi-inspired food to comfort and sustain the people of Harrogate. Where family, simple design and effortless cool is at the heart in everything he does.

If you visit this town centre cafe you must try the waffles, made in the traditional heart-shaped waffle iron. Top them with chocolate, salted caramel or jam and whipped cream – it is melt in your mouth DELICIOUS! Great value for money too.

Have a hearty full English at Christian’s Cafe

Christian’s Cafe started from the last few dregs of his student loan… luckily for him it’s paid off and now he’s the proud owner of this great urban hangout. Offering free parking, shopping and even a scrumptious roast Sunday lunch.

Based in, what I think could be my favorite place to shop in Harrogate – Crimple Hall – Christian’s was another cafe which open in 2012, The cafe has a really family friendly vibe and I am sure it’s popular with yummy mummies during the week. Christian’s prides itself on locally sourced food and the breakfast was a filler. The Hutton’s pork sausage was scrumptious and the North Star coffee was so divine I had two! In the summer, the garden comes alive with sharing plates and stonebaked pizzas – bring on the summer!

Indulge in something different, a Bettys Kedgeree

Who doesn’t love Bettys? Whatever you choice from the breakfast menu, it’s going to be delicious. As I work for Bettys, I brunch here an awful lot, probably too much, or maybe not enough. I will always find an excuse to pop in and have a coffee!

If it’s something different your after, try Bettys creamy kedgeree made with smoked haddock, aromatic spices, sultanas, flaked almonds, and topped with a perfectly poached egg.

Bettys has been serving cups of tea in Harrogate for nearly 100 years, it’s an institution and I hope it will be in our wonderful town for many years to come.

Feel the goodness of a Filmore & Union healthy pancake

Filmore & Union is the top choice for any health nut. Based on a balanced diet of nutritional food, the menu will delight any gluten free, vegans and Coeliac sufferers.

The Healthy Pancake is gluten free and served with coconut milk, seasonal fruit, maple syrup and Greek yogurt. I recommend teaming it with one of their amazing Slim Down Juices.
