the Ivy harrogate eating out

The Ivy, an iconic London haunt for the famous is opening it’s doors for the very first time in Yorkshire on Wednesday, 15 November. Located centrally on Parliament Street, a stone’s throw away from Harrogate’s beloved Bettys and our most famous attractions the Turkish Baths and Royal Pump Room.

Edinburgh open just last month with mix reviews including restaurant critic, Joanna Blythman  but The Ivy Harrogate is set to offer a sophisticated yet relaxed all-day dining to locals, visitors and those working nearby.

What do we think to the interior sketch above? Well, I’ve got a sneak preview on Tuesday 14th November where I shall be sharing the real interiors with you over on my instagram stories, so get following!

About The Ivy in Harrogate

Occupying an impressive, historical building at 7-9 Parliament Street, the new restaurant will accommodate 135 covers internally and 48 on a garden terrace, ideal for al fresco dining in the warmer months. Featuring traditional high ceilings, large front windows and interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, The Ivy Harrogate Brasserie will boast a light and airy dining space, and a signature bar offering local spirits and ales on the ground floor.

On The Ivy Menu

The restaurant will serve a range of Yorkshire inspired dishes using locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks and dinner, with extensive menus overseen by The Ivy Collection’s Chef Director and Yorkshire man, Mark Askew. Whitby caught fish will feature prominently within The Ivy Harrogate’s selection of regularly changing fish specials, Masham sausages will be used for its hearty English breakfasts, and cheeseboards will include Harrogate Blue, Wensleydale and Barncliffe Blue, all sourced locally.

Dean Wade, Head Chef of The Ivy Harrogate Brasserie said:

We’re delighted to be opening the very first Ivy Collection restaurant in Yorkshire right here in Harrogate, the town already offers a wonderful dining scene and diverse array of restaurants, so I’m excited for us to be part of this. While our London namesake is known for its exclusivity, a proportion of our tables will always be available for walk-ins, so local residents and those working in the area can drop in whenever they choose.

The Ivy Harrogate’s reservations line will go live on Wednesday 25th October, ahead of the restaurant’s opening on Wednesday 15th November. For more information visit,
