We all have our beauty regimes before our holidays. Mine often includes, nails, waxing and hair. So when I was invited by Beauty by Jodie to give the very popular LVL Lash Lift treatment a whirl I thought, why not! And to be honest ladies, I think this might become my new regular treatment.
You may have heard of lash lifts before and I too have had one or two in my time but never have I achieved such heavenly results from my eyelashes. LVL stands for length, volume and lift. Just like a hair perm the treatment curls and sets your lashes upwards whilst also tinting them to make you look like you’re wearing mascara. Perfect right? Especially if like me you’re going on holiday and you don’t want to wear make up or get the dreaded panda eyes in the pool.
The LVL Lash treatment process
The LVL lash treatment takes around 40 to 50 minutes. Firstly, Jodie taped down my bottom lashes, this is so they don’t also get permed upwards – that would look very silly!
Keeping my eyes closed, Jodie then started to stick my top lashes to a rounded silicon shield which, when the location is applied the lifting affect takes place. The process wasn’t painful or uncomfortable, Jodie was gentle and reassuring throughout.
After 10 to 15 minutes, the volumising lotion is applied for a few minutes to fix the lashes into place before the final stage of tinting the lashes is applied and that’s it it – beautiful luscious lashes for 6 to 8 weeks.
I don’t really need to say anything with the before and after pics! They speak for themselves.
I left Beauty by Jodie with striking, pretty and dark eyelashes and pretty much haven’t warn mascara since – which is heaven.
This treatment is perfect for those who, like me, can’t bear to wear false eyelashes. I tried them once and they were so heavy I looked half asleep or half cut.
What you need to know when having an LVL Lash treatment:
- A patch test will need to be carried out on your skin at least 48 hours before the treatment to ensure you have no reactions to the products used. Jodie can send these via post so no need to see her, just do it yourself.
- You can choose from three sizes of curls – small, medium and large. Depending on how curly or long your natural lashes are will dictate what size you should opt for, but the beauty therapist will advise on what size is best for you – I had medium.
- Following the treatment you can’t get your lashes wet for 24 hours or wear eye makeup.
- The LVL lash treatment at Beauty by Jodie costs £45 and lasts 6 to 8 weeks, but your natural lash cycle will play a part in this too.
Jodie, carried out the LVL lash treatment on me and she was brilliant. She was knowledgeable, friendly and made me feel right at home – I can’t recommend Beauty by Jodie enough.
