I did it! My Quick Straight Teeth journey is complete in just 17 short weeks. It has made such a difference to my life already; I smile so much more and when the camera is out I’m not afraid to look directly at it and say ‘Cheeeeeeese’.
Let’s recap. What is Quick Straight Teeth?
Quick Straight Teeth is a cosmetic brace, brought to you by Pannal Dental Clinic, and aims to give you great results in 3 to 6 months, It uses a memory wire which is naturally curved. If you were to scrunch it up, in time it would form it’s original curve. Designed specifically for cosmetic reasons, Quick Straight Teeth works on the front six to eight teeth by pulling them back to the original natural curve. Read more about the process here and my brace fitting here.
Have a look at this:
I don’t really need to say any more as the pictures speak for themselves. My experience of wearing a brace Having a brace on for 17 weeks was surprising, not as many people noticed I was wearing one. If they did they were interest and asked lots of questions; I became quite proud of it.
However, there were a couple of downsides to the brace. Biting into an apple is out of the question and the little brushes became really useful when eating spaghetti or rice. I also didn’t like how yellow the glue became but you have to take the rough with the smooth. To be honest I’d do it again and only wished I’d done it sooner!
Removing the braces
Removing the brace Greg (my dentist) seemed to just whip it off; done in just 30 minutes, my teeth had never looked so good. He polished my teeth up and fitted a thin metal strip to the back of my teeth to ensure no movement. He then took a mold which would create the clear, plastic retainer. I have to wear this every night and as much as I can throughout the day so my teeth don’t move back. It’s not uncomfortable and, thankfully, doesn’t hinder my sleep.
Smiling for life
Well, that’s it I’ll be smiling for life but next I’m going to whiten my teeth with Boutique Whitening (also available through Pannal Dental Clinic). I don’t want the Rylan Clark-Neal look but a little whiter would be nice, so I will keep you posted on what I think. I’m also contemplating having my bottom teeth straightened.
P.S. Thank you to Pannal Dental Clinic who offered me a small discount on my brace.
