infinity and co - affordable jewellery in harrogate

Infinity & Co was set up in 2015 by a Yorkshire lass and Harrogate resident Sam McDermid. After a life in the corporate world she always wanted to do something for herself and decided to set up an affordable luxury jewellery label. Infinity & Co boasts 11 beautiful collections all named after females, some famous like Diana and some after her family. I popped along to her home in Harrogate to take a look.

As I walked into Sam’s dining room, I could see sparkles laid out right across the dining table, great trays of each collection in front of my very eyes. What hit me the most is how unique each collection was but they all had an elegant style to them. Talking through each of her collections, I could see how passionate Sam was. Each piece of jewellery holds the infinity tag and when designing a piece Sam keeps in mind who it might be for – it has to have equal appeal to her, her mum and her niece to make the cut. Sam’s just finished her newest collection called Anya. I fell in love with them at first sight. The gold, silver and rose gold sets off the AAA grade simulated diamonds beautifully. And they look great with two or three around your wrist! It was on my Christmas list before I could say ‘please’.

Infinity & Co has been sold across the world and is a big hit with the travel retail industry such as Jet2 and Qantas in-flight magazines. Sam also sells to House of Fraser but she wants to concentrate on the local area, in particular the town she loves and live in, Harrogate. Sam enjoys this little part of the world including the flowers on the Stray and a cocktail or two in the West Park.

“Who wouldn’t want to live here? It’s a perfect little hub!” said Sam.

Over the next few months you’ll see Sam and her Infinity & Co jewellery popping up at local events including this weekend’s Country Living Fair where she will be at B121, pop along and say hi.

As the business has only a small number of collections, and with Sam at the helm, it means they are able to react to current trends very quickly. Already they are on with another collection where Sam is working with a designer from the leading art and design college, Central Saint Martins. I managed a glimpse design but at this stage it was just a sketch of the finished collection. I’m excited to see what it will look like once it’s made… maybe Victoria would be a good name (wink, wink, nudge nudge).

At the end of our meeting Sam offered me to pick a piece for myself. It was like my Christmas wishes had been answered and Sam very kindly let me have two Anya – one just won’t do! Look at the way they sparkle…
