Spring flower ideas for the home

Spring has been a bit of a mix bag, we’ve had a dusting of snow and glorious sunshine. I love nothing more than to celebrate Spring in the home and nothing brightens up a room like a beautiful arrangement of flowers. Why not try these simple designs to don your coffee table or pop in your porch.

#1 Displaying Daffodils

Daffodils are among the cheapest and cheeriest spring flowers will find to buy! Late winter through to early spring bloomers make this bunch of flowers hard to beat. they will brighten up any room but my advice is to keep it simple; daffodils don’t suit formality, so casually group a small posy and pop them in a rustic bucket, jam jar or jug.

#2 Terrific Tulips

Tulips are a fond favourite in Britain. The beautiful flowers come in all the colours of the rainbow so you can match your interior. If you want to replace the wreath that adorned your door during the winter months you could create a standout wreath. You’ll need around 10 bunches of tulips and a florists foam. It’s a little fiddly but the result will make any front door stand out!

#3 Heavenly Hyacinths

Hyacinths are fantastic pot plants due to their neat and compact nature. Growing them indoors allows you to enjoy their sweet scent.  Hyacinths are really easy to look after, just make sure they have a lot of natural light and don’t over water them. Plus, you can use their bulbs year after year; fertilise your potted hyacinth once during the bloom, and once after the flowers have faded. keep water regularly until the foliage turns yellow, and then let the pot go dry. Allow the foliage to die back naturally, but cut back the wilted flowers with scissors to support bulb vigor.

#4 Pretty Pussy Willow

Pussy Willow with their distinctive stems and furry catkin buds are brilliant for adding height to an existing arrangement or pop them in a tall vase for a structural stand alone sensation.
