We are truly lucky to live in Harrogate. Over the past two days and tonight’s the Valley Garden’s has been transformed into an amazing display using fire and water.
My friends and I hold regular gin night’s and tonight it was my turn. On the agenda was Monkey 47 which is a Schwarzwald Dry Gin that combines native Black Forest herbs and berries and exotic Asian botanicals. I served it with passion fruit halves.
Fire Garden in the Valley Gardens
Holding Gin night at mine was perfect as it’s a hop, skip and a jump to the Valley Gardens. At 10pm, when it was just falling dark, we headed over (taking some gin with us) to explore the Fire Garden. The event is just £3 per person enter and tonight is the last night. Orchestrated by Cie Caraboose, a renowned French street arts company there’s flaming flower-pots, cast iron sculpture and music which makes it feel like your entered a weird dream or drank a little too much gin!
People turned out in their thousands last night and it’s thought over the three days 15,000 will walk through the Valley Garden gates. It’s one trippy experience but so much fun when with great friends. So if you’ve nothing on tonight, take a blanket, a bottle of fizz and set up camp next to a smouldering goblet and watch the world go by.
Did you go to the Fire Garden? What did you think?
