Royal Hall Open Days

Thursday 14th June, Tuesday 3rd July, Tuesday 24th July, Thursday 4th October and Monday 22nd October.

Learn more about our beautiful Royal Hall – Harrogate’s Kursaal was completed in 1903, the creation of Britain’s greatest theatre designer, Frank Matcham and the architect Robert Beale. Conceived and designed as a ‘Cure Hall’ in the great continental tradition, the building provided the major entertainment venue for the rich and famous who came to visit Harrogate and take the waters at one of Europe’s foremost spas.

The Royal Hall is open to the public from 10am-4pm. Guided tours are held at 11am and 2.30pm each Open Day – the minimum suggested donation is £3 per person.

Mamma Mia: Hear we go again! Party at Everyman

Friday 20th July

Transport yourself to the sun-drenched island of Greece for an Everyman special; a party inspired by everyone’s favourite musical. Get into your holiday clothes, get in the holiday spirit, and get ready to sing, dance and laugh all over again. Tickets include food and drink.

The feel-good film of the summer returns after 10 long years – Donna, Sophie and the Super Troupers are back in force this July, backed by some of ABBA’s best loved hits.
When Sophie suddenly finds herself pregnant, she journeys into her mother’s past to unearth the answers to some burning questions. Searching for inspiration, she retraces Donna’s steps way back to 1979; and learns some lessons about living life to the fullest.

The festival also includes a performance by Oddsocks. On Tuesday 10th to Wednesday 11th July they’ll be performing The Tempest. Space explorer Prospero is marooned in a galaxy far, far away with a host of madcap aliens. Wanting revenge on his enemies, the Space Cowboys, he conjures up The Force to bring them to him. This Rocket Man will have his day!

Crash landing in a meteor storm this is one Space Oddity to beat. Prepare for launch and pack a picnic in the glorious setting of RHS Harlow Carr Gardens. Take one small step for man, one giant leap for Shakespeare!
